POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The Lady Knights are feeling the love.

The Point Pleasant girls tennis team extended its winning streak to four straight matches after posting identical 7-0 wins over Sissonville and Poca on Monday and Tuesday night in a pair of non-conference contests.

The Lady Knights (6-1) picked up their fourth and fifth ‘love’ victories of the season with their decisive 7-0 outings against the host Lady Indians and visiting Lady Dots. PPHS has also won its last four matches by 7-0 counts since dropping a 4-3 decision that included a tiebreaker to Ravenswood just one week ago.

On Monday, Point Pleasant posted a trio of 8-0 wins and never allowed more than four games in any one match against SHS.

Olivia Pyles netted an 8-4 win over Kaitlin McClung in first singles and Bailey Barnett was an 8-0 winner over Josie Slater in second singles. Danielle Marcum posted an 8-2 decision over Katherine Whittington in third singles and Sarah Deem won 8-0 over Madison Jones in fourth singles.

Pyles and Barnett scored an 8-2 win over McClung and Whittington in first doubles, while Marcum and Deem netted an 8-0 win over Jones and Jadyn Milan in second doubles.

Kenlee Bonecutter and Caroline Foreman completed the sweep with an 8-0 win over Slater and Kensey Pugh in third doubles.

PPHS returns to The Courts on Tuesday, which resulted in an even better effort as the hosts surrendered only five games to the Lady Dots.

Pyles earned an 8-3 win over Bryn Herdman in first singles and Barnett won 8-0 over Asia Davis in second singles. Marcum was an 8-1 winner over Bekka Heading in third singles and Deem scored an 8-0 win over Aiyana Woodall in fourth singles.

Pyles and Barnett claimed an 8-1 win over Herdman and Davis in first doubles, while Marcum and Deem netted an 8-0 win over Heading and Kianna Carroll in second doubles. Bonecutter and Foreman also scored an 8-0 victory over Woodall and Kobi Burk in third doubles.

Olivia Martin also picked up a 6-3 exhibition win over Burk.

The Lady Knights play at Logan on Saturday and return home on Monday for a match against Sissonville at 4:30 p.m.
