WINFIELD, W.Va. — All it takes is one single moment.

The Point Pleasant High School girls soccer team fell 1-0 on the road to the Winfield Lady Generals Thursday evening in a battle of top-five, undefeated programs.

The Lady Knights (5-1) had trouble getting offense going throughout Thursday’s game, making no shots on goal throughout.

In the first half, the ball spent the majority of the time on the Black and Red’s side of the pitch, forcing the visitors to play on their heels.

Freshman goalie Katie McCutcheon had a good showing in the first half, getting four saves.

The Lady Knight offense started finding some windows of opportunity in the second half, but passes problems continued to plague the visiting team, keeping them from getting close enough to the Winfield goal to get a shot off.

Despite the problems on offense, the Point Pleasant defense held stout through much of the game (McCutcheon gaining three more saves in the process), but the Lady Generals found the back of the net with just over six minutes to go, keeping their own undefeated streak alive.

In other stats, the Lady Generals led the Lady Knights in both corner kicks (7-0) and free kicks (14-6).
