NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Another year, another division championship for the Lady Eagles.
The Eastern girls cross country team claimed their fifth straight Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division championship win at the 2015 TVC Championships on Saturday at Nelsonville-York High School in Athens County.
The Lady Eagles won with a perfect score of 15 — with six runners finishing in the top-10. Jessica Cook paced the field of 19 with a time of 20:01.50.
Laura Pullins (20:37.20) finished second for Eastern, while Ally Durst (21:18.80) and Kaitlyn Hawk (21:32) placed third and fourth respectively. Taylor Parker (21:36.30) took fifth place, followed by Rhiannon Morris (23:23.90) in eighth place.
Mallory Johnson (25:33.40) led Southern with a 13th place finish, followed by Sailor Warden and Kathryn Matson (27:55) in 16th and 17th respectively.
South Gallia’s Kelsey Corbin (23:44) finished in 10th place.
Athens won the TVC Ohio Division title with a score of 24 points — with six runners finishing in the top-10 — followed by Vinton County with 82 points and Meigs with 92 points. River Valley finished fourth with 98 points. Athens’ Emily Cass paced the field of 50 with a time of 19:35.20.
Gracie Hoffman (21:25.10) led the Lady Marauders’ efforts with a sixth place finish. Taylor Swartz (22:49.30) finished 18th, while Lara Perrin (22:52.30) and Caitlyn Rest (22:56.20) placed 19th and 20th respectively. Sadie Fox (24:41.30) took 33rd, followed by Ariann Sizemore (26:02.90) in 37th place.
Kenzie Baker (21:29.50) finished eighth for the Lady Raiders. Ieva Katkauskaite (21:55.90) took 11th for the Silver and Black. Julia Nutter (23.39.40) finished 25th, while Bailey Hollingsworth (24:09.70) and Josie Jones (24:20) placed 29th and 31st respectively. Leanne Hively (25:37.80) finished 36th for River Valley.
Southern’s boys team won the TVC Hocking Division title with a score of 22 points — with four runners finishing in the top-10 — followed by Trimble with 33 points. Belpre’s Cray Sistrunk paced the field of 22 with a time of 16:53.20.
Conner Wolfe (17:05.70) led the Purple and Gold with a second place finish, followed by Larry Dunn (18:06) in third place. Tylar Blevins (18:58.60) took sixth place, while Dimitrius Lamm (20:01) and Lucas Hunter (20:13.80) placed eighth and 11th respectively. Ryan McCabe (22:36.80) finished 19th for the Tornadoes.
South Gallia’s Joseph Ehmen (20:19) finished 13th and Eastern’s Caden Goff (21:06.80) finished 16th.
River Valley took the TVC Ohio Division title with a score of 34 points — with four runners finishing in the top-10 — followed by Athens with 37 points. Meigs took third with 71 points. Athens’ Walker Hauschild paced the field of 71 with a time of 17:15.
Jacob Kemper (17:47.70) led the Raiders with a third place finish, followed by Nathaniel Abbott (17:53.80) in fourth place and Chance Gillman (17:58.30) in fifth place. Garrett Young (18:06.40) placed eighth for the Silver and Black. George Rickett (18:40) took 14th, while Caleb McKnight (19:25.90) and Ben Moody (20:02.50) placed 26th and 34th respectively.
Jacob Swindell (18:01.60) led Meigs with a sixth place finish, followed by James Parsons (18:26.20) in 11th and Jared Kennedy (18:36.10) in 13th. Cole Betzing (19:06.70) finished 20th, while Nate Hoover (19:07.30) and Dillon Mahr (19:11.10) placed 21st and 22nd respectively.
