White Falcons place 4th at Waterford

BEVERLY, Ohio — Score one for the home team.

The host Waterford golf team squeaked passed a quartet of Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division guests, on Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course.

In the play six, count four format, the Wildcats posted a total of 175, two strokes better than second place Southern, which was previously unbeaten in the league. In third place, 10 strokes behind the victors, Eastern placed third with a score of 185.

The White Falcons combined for a score of 211, good enough for fourth place, while South Gallia rounded out the five-team field with a total of 223.

Waterford was led by match medalist Evan Seevers with a 40, followed by Travis Pottmeyer with a 44 and Wesley Jenkins with a 45. Grant Weihl rounded out the winning total with a 46, while Bryce Hilverding (47) and Matt Semon (50) fired the potential tie-breaking scores.

The Purple and Gold were led by the junior trio of Jensen Anderson, Jarrett Hupp and Ryan Acree, who fired rounds of 42, 44 and 45 respectively. SHS senior Jonah Hoback capped off the Tornado total with a 46, with Joey Weaver (52) and Landin Hill (57) as the non-counting scores.

EHS senior Kaleb Honaker led the Eagles with a 43, followed by Ryan Harbour with a 45 and Jasiah Brewer with a 46. Garrett Chalfant posted Eastern’s final counting score of 51, with John Harris and Nathan Hensley adding a 53 and a 55 respectively.

The White Falcons’ low round of the day was a 49 fired by Gage Smith. Next was Anthony Ortiz with a 52, followed by Jay Sayre and Jace Heckaman with matching 55s. Carl Sayre (56) and Kyher Bush (66) also competed for the Red and White.

The Rebels were led by senior Curtis Haner, who posted a 47. Noah Spurlock marked a 53 for SGHS, Dustin Bainter added a 61, while Layne Ours capped off the team total with a 62. Caleb Condee (63) and Gabby Spurlock (68) fired non-counting rounds for South Gallia.

The Eagles, Rebels, Tornadoes and White Falcons are scheduled to be back in action on Wednesday, at Forrest Hills Golf Course.
