Lady Marauders roll past VC

ROCKSPRINGS, Ohio — A good win for the Lady Marauders.

The Meigs volleyball team cruised to a 3-1 home victory over Vinton County on Tuesday night during a Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division matchup in Meigs County.

The Lady Marauders (3-9, 2-2 TVC Ohio) took control of the match with wins of 26-24 and 25-23 in the first two games, but the Lady Vikings avoided a sweep with a 25-17 win during Game 3. The Maroon and Gold clinched the match victory with a 25-22 win during Game 4.

Freshman Kassidy Betzing led Meigs with 16 service points and 13 kills. Devyn Oliver had 15 points. Devin Humphreys finished with 12 points, while Alliyah Pullins got seven service points. Morgan Lodwick and Allie Hanstine each had four points apiece.

Humphreys had 10 kills, followed Oliver and Pullins with seven kills each. Hanstine also had three kills for the Lady Marauders. Oliver led with a team-high six aces, while Lodwick had four aces. Betzing and Humphreys had one ace apiece for the home team.

The Lady Marauders’ next match will take place at Nelsonville-York on Thursday. Match time is set for 7:15 p.m.
