MERCERVILLE, Ohio — Lady Rebels get back on track.
After suffering its first loss of the season on Thursday, the South Gallia volleyball team bounced back to win both matches of a tri with Fairland and Oak Hill, on Saturday in Gallia County.
The Lady Rebels (3-1), suffered a 25-23 setback to Oak Hill in the opening game, but battled back to take a 25-14 win and a 25-20 win in the next two games.
Kirstin Burnette led the Lady Rebel service attack with 14 points and nine aces, followed by Keirsten Howell with eight points. Erin Evans marked six points and an ace, Mariah Hineman and Rachal Colburn both added five points, with Colburn recording three aces. Taylor Burnette marked four points and an ace, Jayla Wolford contributed two points, while Hannah Shafer finished with one.
Wolford led SGHS at the net with seven kills and four blocks, while Hineman posted nine kills. Courtney Haner finished with three kills, while Evans, Caitlyn Vanscoy and Taylor Burnette each added one. Evans led the Red and Gold with nine assists, while Taylor Burnette contributed seven helpers.
South Gallia continued its roll when facing Fairland, topping the Lady Dragons 25-12 and 25-20.
Kirstin Burnette again led SGHS, this time with nine service points, while Hineman added eight with four aces. Taylor Burnette marked four points, including two aces, Evans added three points, while Maddie Simpson marked two points and an ace. Wolford and Colburn both posted two points, while Shafer finished with one in the win.
Hineman led South Gallia at the net with seven kills, followed by Wolford with six. Haner marked two kills and a block, Taylor Burnette added two kills, while Vanscoy marked one kill in the triumph. Evans and Taylor Burnette each finished with eight assist in the second match, while Taylor Burnette marked a dig in both matches.
South Gallia returns to action on Tuesday when the Lady Rebels visit Trimble.
