GALLIPOLIS — Gallia County native and multimedia artist Lola E. Barcus Richards will showcase select works of her art at the French Art Colony.
The show will begin with a kickoff public reception at 6 p.m. Aug. 7. The show will run until Sept. 20.
Richards, currently a resident of Springfield, Va., celebrates her 90th birthday this year. This will be her fourth showing at the French Art Colony, following exhibitions in 1980, 1994 and 2004.
Primarily, she creates art with acrylic on canvas or watercolor; however, she also creates with other media as well, including sculpture, silk screen, wood cuts, linocuts and etching. Through the years, her works have received various recognitions and awards of excellence. Additionally, she is also known for her thematic collage works.
The exhibition will be on display, Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The FAC Galleries are closed Sundays and Mondays. Admission is free to all visitors.
