POINT PLEASANT — This year a total of 13 young women, both local and from around the state, will compete for the 2016 Point Pleasant Sternwheel Teen and Miss titles.
The pageant takes place at 7 p.m. June 30 at the Point Pleasant Riverfront Park and is the first major regatta event of the week.
Contestants for Teen are: Kadann Bonecutter, 13, daughter of Denny and Tonya Bonecutter, of Gallipolis Ferry; Emma Tomlinson, 13, daughter of Betty Lake and Tim Tomlinson, of New Haven; Gracie Queen, 13, daughter of Harry Queen and Denise Queen, of Point Pleasant; Jasmine Rainey, 14, daughter of Barbara Rainey and Michael Rainey Jr., of Apple Grove, and Sarah Deem, 15, daughter of Deron and Melissa Deem, of Point Pleasant.
Contestants for Miss are: Seminole Weekley, 17, daughter of Carl and Dessie Weekley, of Friendly; Felicia VanPelt, 18, daughter of Agnes and Mike VanPelt, of Summersville; Leah Kuhn, 18, daughter of Meredith and Jason Kuhn, of Harrisville; Meriah Cummings, 20, daughter of Kevin and Jaris Cummings, of Evans; Bridgett Dudding, 21, daughter of Richard and Melissa Dudding, of Hurricane; Jaden Giles, 16, daughter of Jason Giles and Tabitha Giles, of Spencer; Charli Leach, 18, daughter of Lori and Greg Danford, of Glenwood; and McKenzie Roush, 16, daughter of Jeffery and Andrea Roush, of Point Pleasant.

Friday, the Junior Royalty Pageants will take place. Those wishing to still enter are to arrive at the Riverfront Park between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Pageant is at 5 p.m. Winners crowned will be River Princess, Miss Maritime, and Little Miss and Mister Showboat. The Pretty Baby Contest is also at 5 p.m.
