The Point Pleasant Moose Lodge #731 is in the full Christmas spirit once again this year. The Women of the Moose Chapter #594 have been busy decorating not only the Moose Lodge but have added decorations and a tree at Gunn Park (Toys For Kids) for the first time honoring several deceased members with picture ornaments.

“We hope to expand this next year honoring even more members and taking requests,” stated a news release from the Chapter.

In addition to the above they are also sponsoring and decorated an Angel Tree in support of the Baby Pantry program that provides clothes as well as some toys to needy children and young adults. They have done this for the past two years and almost every year we have “ordered” more Angels due to the popularity of this program. If you wish to sponsor a child, stop by the Moose and pick up an Angel. This is open to the public or anyone that wishes to participate not just Moose members.

Monday night they will be selling concessions at the monthly charity bingo with all proceeds going to Toys for Kids. Hot dogs will be offered as usual along with miniature pies. 15 games cash games will be played along with two prize games. You do not have to play all the games but you must be 18 to play.

The Moose Lodge also has a Donation Bench which is rapidly filling up with toys from donations from its members and bingo players over the past month. The Moose Women’s Chapter recently purchased and donated $170 worth of toys adding to the already overflowing bench. These will all be given to Toys for Kids as well as the cash proceeds from our charity event. Our goal is three pickup truck loads, we currently have one.

The news release fruther stated, “Each month we do a charity bingo for a worthy cause in our community and each month we worry about finding support. Please come out and make this the best charity bingo ever and possibly a child’s best Christmas ever. Toys for Kids has been together for over 40 years with no benefits other than a smile on a child’s face that otherwise may not have existed. I am sure there are a few now 40-year-old’s out there that may have benefited from this program at one time or another. Time to pay it forward. Monday night December 6 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. For every toy donated Monday night, the Moose will give you one free regular bingo game. Bring a toy and enjoy a game of bingo on us, maybe you will win and can donate that also.”
