Multi-vehicle accident injures three people

POINT PLEASANT — A Thursday afternoon crash involving three vehicles left three people injured.

According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were notified of the crash around 1:40 p.m. Thursday. The crash occurred at the intersection of W.Va. 2 and Plain Valley Road outside Point Pleasant.

A 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Amey Carr, 43, of Gallipolis Ferry, was preparing to turn left on to Plain Valley Road when a 2004 Mack dump truck driven by Loren Price, 68, Arnoldsburg, collided with the rear end of Carr’s pickup, according to the sheriff’s department.

The collision pushed Carr’s pickup across the center line into the path of an oncoming 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Kayla Boyd, 31, Ravenswood, according the sheriff’s department.

Carr and Price were transported from the scene by air medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington for treatment of injuries. Boyd was transported by ambulance to Pleasant Valley Hospital by emergency personnel with Mason County EMS. The sheriff’s department reports all three drivers were in stable condition as of Friday morning.

Agencies assisting the sheriff’s department were West Virginia State Police, West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, West Virginia Department of Highways, Point Pleasant Fire Department, Flatrock Fire Department, Mason County EMS, Healthnet, Red’s Rollen Garage and Neville’s Wrecker Service.

The accident remains under investigation.
