RIO GRANDE, Ohio — The University of Rio Grande’s fourth annual Bevo Francis Cancer Walk is 3 p.m. Nov. 15.
The one mile walk will begin at the basketball courts in front of the Davis University Center.
This year’s walk will be the first since the late Bevo Francis lost his battle to esophageal cancer in June. Money raised through the walk will be donated to the American Cancer Society for research of esophageal cancer.
The walk takes place Sunday to kick off the week off this year’s Bevo Classic basketball tournament, which will also include the presentation of the inaugural Clarence “Bevo” Francis Character Award to a student who shares Bevo’s professionalism, character and leadership quality. The winner will be announced Nov. 21 during the basketball game.
Parking for the event will be available in the visitor lots. Lot “H” will be the closest visitor parking lot to the starting point.
