CROWN CITY — What started as a shots fired police call on Chambers Road Saturday involving two brothers resulted in the arrest of a Crown City area man who was then charged with two counts of first-degree misdemeanor menacing and one count of fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in Gallipolis Municipal Court.

“On Saturday, Nov. 4 at approximately 3:47 p.m.,” said Gallia Sheriff Matt Champlin,” the Gallia Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a Richard Henderson regarding a shots fired incident (at Richard) which occurred at 684 Chambers Road. Deputies responded and met with Mr. Henderson along with a Michael Taylor. Through the course of the investigation, we learned that Mr. Henderson had went to his brother Michael Shannon Henderson’s house. On arrival, a disputed ensued between the Henderson brothers at which time Michael Henderson allegedly brandished a firearm and began shooting off rounds. Not directly at the victim, but in the vicinity.”

It was the sheriff’s opinion that Michael was reportedly attempting to intimidate Richard.

A search warrant was drafted for a residence Michael was associated with and executed just before midnight on Nov. 4. As a result of the warrant, the sheriff reported drug paraphernalia was seized from the residence. Michael was taken into custody.

“Based on the details which evolved from the investigation, he was incarcerated for two counts aggravated menacing and possession of drug paraphernalia which were filed in the Gallipolis Municipal Court,” said Champlin. “He was taken into custody but has currently bonded out.”
