The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests Oct. 28-Nov.2 : Ryan S. Henry, 23, Gallipolis, Ohio, DUI, driving while revoked for DUI, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Jason R. Blakenship, 35, Point Pleasant, fleeing from officer while DUI, fugitive from justice warrant, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson and Deputy Ferrell. Tenicha D. Angles, 32, Apple Grove, capias, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Chad W. Somerville, 38, Gallipolis Ferry, obstructing an officer, procuring electric, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Jessica N. Clendenen, 33, Hartford, daytime burglary, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson. Nicole L. Dittman, 32, Kenna, domestic battery, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department, with support from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, Nov. 11. The checkpoint will be operational between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. in the 400-block of Viand Street in Point Pleasant. Officers will be briefly stopping all traffic at the checkpoint and will distribute informational brochures as well as checking drivers for signs of intoxication. All efforts will be made to ensure that the flow of traffic remains constant and the inconvenience to motorists is minimized. The checkpoint is a statewide campaign funded through a grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program in order to reduce the number alcohol-related deaths on American’s highways.
