POINT PLEASANT — Tis the season…almost.
Practice has begun for the Mason County Community Choir Christmas Cantata though it’s not too late to join. Participants should bring their love of singing to practice on Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Baptist Church, 1100 Main Street in Point Pleasant.
The cantata will be presented to the public both Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 7:00pm at Main Street Baptist Church. There is no admission cost however a love offering will be taken and given to a local charity yet to be names.
Under the direction of Larry Jones, the Mason County Community Cantata is a group of singers and musicians from the Mason County and surrounding areas performing twice a year.
The Cantata is titled “Christmas is Real” and is a combination of familiar Christmas music mixed with contemporary Christian Christmas songs. Done in four-part harmony, several solos will be featured.
Jones said, “I want folks to enjoy the fellowship and to present the Christian meaning of Christmas I would love to have at least 50 singers.”
Also, for those who cannot make the Monday night rehearsals, there will be Sunday afternoon rehearsals beginning in November at a date to be announced.
