Brandon T. Hickman, 33, Gallipolis Ferry, was arrested and charged with operate or attempt to operate a clandestine lab on Friday by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the complaint filed in Mason County Magistrate Court, Deputies Cavender and Waugh arrived at a residence on Arnold Drive in Gallipolis Ferry in reference to a narcotics investigation. Upon arrival, the deputies said they spoke to Hickman and detected “a chemical odor.” Deputies searched the residence and found tubing running through a bottle lid. While walking behind the home deputies found a two-liter bottle containing materials that appeared to be lithium floating in it, according to the complaint. Sgt. F.O. Terry who was assisting, called Lt. S. L. Greene, who is a meth tech, to the scene.

Hickman appeared for arraignment in front of Magistrate Gail Roush who set his bond at $100,000 on Friday.


The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests in separate cases made Aug. 18-Aug. 24: Stephen T. Fink, 51, Middleport, Ohio, defeating drug and alcohol screening, violation parole, arrested by Lt. Greene. Joseph T. Barton, 25, Huntington, nighttime burglary, arrested by Deputy J. Peterson. Jason G. Quivey, 36, Middleport, Ohio, domestic assault warrant, arrested by Deputy Waugh. Erica A. Woodall, 32, Point Pleasant, DUI with child under 16, arrested by Deputy Waugh. Corey J. Riffle, 22, Ravenswood, possession with intent to deliver, arrested by Sgt. Varian. Robert L. Stewart, 55, Henderson, delivery of controlled substance, arrested by Deputy Cavender. Meghan E. Cullip, 31, Gallipolis Ferry, DUI, arrested by Deputy Waugh.
