City of Point Pleasant launches new website

POINT PLEASANT — City of Point Pleasant officials are trying to make life easier for residents who need assistance and those who wish to find out more about the historic city, with the launch of a new website.

Found at, the city’s official website has everything from contact phone numbers for city offices and office holders, to forms which can be downloaded for building permits, business licences, renewals, complaints, job applications and more.

Though the city had a former website, it had become difficult to update and wasn’t equipped to handle current needs which brought about the idea for a new one.

The new website also acts as a history lesson for those who aren’t familiar with Point Pleasant, taking visitors from the Battle of Point Pleasant, to Mothman. It also promotes sites like Tu-Endie-Wei State Park and the Point Pleasant River Museum and Learning Center.

One of the slogans on the page is “Let Us Bring You Back in Time With Our Old-Town Charm” but the website promotes both the old and new.

The website’s menu, also includes an “events” tab which promotes activities in the city by connecting visitors to basic information, as well as entry forms (if applicable) for those activities.

Another tab on the website is exclusively for Krodel Park and displays its attractions, as well as its camping rates, and rental rates for the club house, gazebo and shelters.

The website also includes copies of the official city charter, city maps and zoning maps.

The new website will allow the city the option to update and grow the site’s offerings as needed.
