Awaiting autopsy results
A Point Pleasant man, incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail, died March 2. According to Lawrence Messina, director of communications for West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, Bradley Siders, 28, suffered some type of medical episode in the late afternoon of March 2. Messina said staff “immediately provided assistance.” He was ultimately taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
“We were later told that he had been pronounced dead,” Messina wrote in a statement. “He had been brought to the jail the previous afternoon. We are awaiting preliminary details from the autopsy.”
Siders had been arrested and charged with reporting a false emergency and transported to the Western Regional Jail.
Shooting reported in Gallia County, Ohio
HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday shooting in the 1100 Block of Clay Lick Road in Harrison Township.
“At this time we know that one individual has been shot and one suspect is in custody,” said Gallia Sheriff Matt Champlin.
The suspect has been identified as Roger Waugh, 55, of Patriot. Waugh is charged with second-degree felonious assault after allegedly shooting a tenant of one of his properties after a dispute, according to Champlin.
Champlin stated that his officers processed the scene with the assistance of Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Prosecutor Jason Holdren also responded to the scene and is evaluating the evidence with deputies in regards to charges being filed. Law enforcement responded around 5:44 p.m.
“We can also report that the victim of the shooting has been released from the hospital and has been in contact with investigators,” said Champlin.
Champlin says several witnesses are still being questioned.
