POINT PLEASANT — The Meeting House is honoring the late Carolin Harris this Saturday with an event which will feed people – something Harris did most of her life.
The event is also meant to collect donations for a memorial for Harris.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at The Meeting House with beans and cornbread or hot dogs being served for donations only. The donations will go toward that memorial for Harris, though the type of memorial will be determined by the amount of donations collected. Jessica Kapp of The Meeting House, said no matter how much is collected, 100 percent of it will go toward the memorial effort. She added, The Meeting House welcomes collaborating with other entities which wish to honor Harris in a similar way and it’s possible donations collected Saturday could be gifted to a larger memorial project with Harris’ memory in mind.
In addition to the meal, Sammy Doolittle will offer musical entertainment as The Meeting House has a revamped stage and sound system for various events.
Those organizing the event say they feel Harris was a personal history book for Point Pleasant and a supporter of any group she felt was “good and honest.”
The event is solely designed to help create a memorial to Harris for the support, meals and love she has shown to all people who lived in, or visited Point Pleasant, according to The Meeting House.
