The Letart Pioneers 4-H Club met on Oct. 9 with the meeting beginning with election of officers.
Cade Blackshire and Mary Brinker were nominated as recorders. Club members nominated Tayllor King as the president for the year, Luke Diehl as vice president and Carl Sayre as health monitor. Members feel this is going to be a great year for the club.
Also during the meeting, the New Haven Fire Department came to visit the club, discussing the importance of how to locate the date on smoke alarms and change them every 10 years. Members learned the term: “Don’t wait! Check the Date!”
Club members decided to help the Letart Community Center host a “Haunted Trail” during the annual Halloween Party on Oct. 29. Members will start the day by picking up trash for their “Adopt-A-Highway” program. Club members are to meet at the Guiding Star Church parking lot at 8 a.m. and will then go to the center to decorate for the party.
The next meeting will be Nov. 13. Members are still to be recycling for the year. If anyone has anything they need to recycle, let any member know and they will collect it for you. Also, the club voted to sell Rada Cutlery for a fundraiser.
