Mary Isabel Lutton, 83, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, after a sudden illness.

She was born February 2, 1927 in Friendly, a daughter of the late Floyd and Ethel Adkinson Rethlisberger.

Mary was a retired registered nurse from Pleasant Valley Hospital after 30 years of service. She graduated from the Holzer School of Nursing. In her community, Mary was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant and Eastern Star #75 of Point Pleasant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Robert S. Lutton; sister, Eleanor Rethlisberger; and step-mother, Dell Rethlisberger.

She is survived by her daughters, Mica and (Dr. Jeffery) Bane of Tuscan, Ariz., and Sara and (Ray) Riffle of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Susan and (Shawn) Howard of Nitro, Meredith and (Edmund) Blake and James Robbie Williamson, both of Morgantown, and Taylor Williamson of Point Pleasant; step-grandchildren, Dr. Rene and (Nick) McGinnis, Ed and (Jennifer) Riffle, and Helen Riffle; great grandchildren, Kaden Howard, Maribella Blake and Brinkley Howard; sisters, Ann Kloehn and (Harvey) of Maryland, Jean and (Donald) Hendricks of Ariz., and Faye and (John) Fink of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Deal Funeral Home of Point Pleasant with Pastor Chris Mullett officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
