On Sunday, alumni began gathering to help build an old fashioned parade float. They will continue to meet at 114 Layne Street in New Haven at 6 p.m. until Thursday, Sept. 30 to finish the float in time for the parade scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. It is asked that everyone bring white napkins to help with the float.
On homecoming day, the parade will make its way through New Haven, Hartford, Mason and end at Wahama High School. Pre-game celebrations will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the school’s brand new courtyard. Those wishing to attend should use the Wal-Mart side entrance. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided at the pre-game event.
All Wahama fans and alumni will join together at 7 p.m. on Friday night to cheer on the White Falcons, and the Wahama Alumni Band which will perform during half-time. A post-game celebration also is planned to follow the game at the Riverside Golf Club in Mason.
The annual alumni picnic will kick-off events on Saturday at 1 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. This is a pot-luck picnic and will be held in the Wahama courtyard. Many activities are planned for Saturday, including a school tour, door prizes and entertainment from the alumni band and choir. Please bring a lawn chair. In case of rain, all alumni activities will be moved the school’s small gym.
On Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 7 p.m., skydiving for Wahama alumni will take place at the Mason County Airport. This is a public event and those from Wahama will be jumping as a group.
