Nine locals to compete for fair queen

POINT PLEASANT — Nine ladies will compete on Monday, Aug. 9 for the 2010 Mason County Fair Queen title.

The pageant will begin at 8 p.m. on the main stage at the Mason County fairgrounds, following the fair dedication at 7 p.m. Little Miss and Mister Mason County will begin at 5:30 p.m., also will take place on the main stage prior to the pageant.

Directors, Aimee Stein and Andrea Henderson, said that this year’s theme is ‘Rhinestone Cowgirl’ and that each contestant will be featured in the opening production number wearing their rhinestone tiara belt buckles, donated by Victoria’s Prom & Bridal. They also will introduce themselves in t-shirts, sponsored by AB Contracting Modular Division.

While the opening number is not a part of judging, there are several phases that are. Pageant contestants will be judged in the following phases of competition: personal interview, promotion and evening gown. A top promotional and evening gown award will be among several of the awards given at the conclusion of the evening’s pageant, along with the Queen and her court.

The contestants for the 2010 Mason County Fair Queen are: Cinthia Lea Arbogast, 20, daughter of Blaine and Lisa Arbogast of Point Pleasant; Megan Casto, 20, daughter of Dennie and Robin Casto of Leon; Lindsey Danielle Deem, 18, daughter of Dorina Deem of Mason; Kalee Ryan Edmonds, 21, daughter of William and Lynnita Edmonds of Point Pleasant; Lauren Catherine Lanier, 16, daughter of Barrett Charles and Angela Marie Lanier of Point Pleasant; Kelsey Roach, 18, daughter of Tony and Diana Roach of Gallipolis Ferry; Linzi Smith, 16, daughter of Doug and Carla Smith of Point Pleasant; Talisha Spencer, 16, daughter of Gordon and Carol Spencer of Hartford; and Kayla Ann Thomas, 16, daughter of David and JoAnn Thomas.
