POINT PLEASANT — Those wishing to catch a glimpse of the popular riverboat, the Belle of Cincinnati, will have the opportunity to do so today.

The boat will dock at the Point Pleasant Riverfront Park this afternoon. According to BB RiverBoats Web site, the Belle of Cincinnati features a dance floor, full bar and elevator for each entry level.

At 5:45 p.m. those who purchased tickets for the Point Pleasant River Museum’s Second Annual River Cruise will board the boat for a two and a half hour cruise along the Ohio River.

The cruise will depart from riverfront park at 7 p.m. From there, the Belle of Cincinnati will head north up the river to around the Bend Area and then back down, past Point Pleasant to Gallipolis Ferry. The boat is expected to dock back at riverfront park at approximately 9:30 p.m. According to Jack Fowler, executive director of the river museum, several tickets have been sold for this year’s cruise.

This year’s event will feature entertainment from Sam Stephens the “One Man Band.” There also will be dancing during the cruise. In addition, those on board will enjoy a catered meal of roast Texas brisket au jus, Chef Alain’s homemade lasagna, sautéed riverboat rice, green beans with butter and seasonings, tossed garden salad with dressing, rolls and butter, dessert, coffee and tea. A silent auction will be held on the boat as well. According to Fowler, several local items donated by area businesses will be featured during the auction.
