Mini-Jubilee event set for May 15

HARTFORD — Music lovers are invited to gather on Saturday, May 15 at the Hartford Community Center along W.Va. 62 to join in the mini-jubilee celebration.

Evelyn Roush, promoter for the event, said that the jubilee will feature singers and musicians, some of which who will perfrom for their first time in the area.

“This is a free event,” Roush said. “A love offering will be lifted to support the 20th annual Bend Area Gospel Jubilee.”

Those on the agenda to sing at the Hartford Community Center next Saturday include Atonement from Marysville, Ohio; Valorie Higginbotham of Buffalo; Annointed of St. Albans; The Roush Family of New Haven; Arling Barnes & Friends of Red House; and Cross Creek of Buffalo.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Parking will be available at the community center. Roush asks that everyone be careful not to block the entrance of homes close to the location of the sing.

“I feel that the Hartford Community Center is another door that God has opened for us to continue our ministry,” Roush said. “This is very dear to my heart and I am thankful that my friends and family have yet another place they where they can come together and worship God in a community atmosphere.”

Roush continued to say that the atmosphere of the Mini-Jubilee will remind her and her friends of times spent together growing up ‘singing for neighbors or under a shade tree.’

The 20th Annual Bend Area Gospel Jubilee will take place June 1-5 in Cottageville at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
