She was born March 29, 1946 in Gallipolis, Ohio, a daughter of the late Captain Charles Clark and Dorothy Pearson Clark of Point Pleasant.
Charlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a retired beautician, a member of the Sand Hill Road Church of Christ, and a former member of the Morning Star Chapter 444 Eastern Star.
She is survived by her mother; husband, Carlos Wood, whom she married on June 11, 1966 in Point Pleasant; three children, Craig (Natalie) Wood of Marietta, Ohio, Tammy (Greg) Willet of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Brent (Teresa) Wood of Wingett Run, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jessica Willet, and Taylor and Jonathan Wood; five step grandchildren, Kirstie and Kylie Ladicicco, and Josh, Timmy, and Tyler Binegar; two brothers, Roger (Twila) Clark and Jeff (Belinda) Clark, both of Point Pleasant; and three sisters, Lana (Keith) Sayre, Mary Martin, and Kim (Tony) Oliver, all of Point Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 9, at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home in Gallipolis, Ohio with Lewis Mikell and Pete Allinder officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Charlene’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
