First Mason Co. baby born in 2010 to receive prizes

POINT PLEASANT — The year 2010 is officially here.

And the first baby born in Mason County in the new year will be eligible to receive a variety of prizes. Parents of children that were born after midnight on Dec. 31, 2009, are asked to send their names, address and doctor’s report to the Point Pleasant Register.

The winning baby must be born in Mason County and have parents who are legal residents of Mason County. To be eligible for prizes, the exact time of birth must be in a written statement by the attending physician. Applications to receive the prizes must be filed in the Point Pleasant Register office by Jan. 29. In the event of a tie, awards will be distributed by the contest committee.

Prizes for the winning baby include two cases of baby formula from Pleasant Valley Hospital, a $200 gift package from Holzer Clinic, a Charlie’s Club Savings Account and $25 membership from Twin Oaks Federal Credit Union, an Oneida fork and spoon set from Sider’s Jewelers, a $10 gift certificate from Mason County Insurance, a $25 gift certificate from Peoples Federal Credit Union, a $50 savings bond from Peoples Bank and a $50 savings bond from City National Bank.
