POINT PLEASANT — It’s that time of the year again. The leaves are beginning to change color, the cool wind in the evening is starting to blow and the West Virginia State Farm Museum is finalizing plans for this weekend’s Country Fall Festival.

The 23rd Annual CEOS Harvest of Quilts also will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Other events taking place Saturday and Sunday include the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Show, Antique Bottle Show, sawmill demonstrations, and of course, watching apple butter and gourds being made.

The Antique Tractor Pull will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday featuring many different models and makes of antique tractors that always draws in a big crowd. And the popular Gun Slinger Show will be at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturday as well.

On Sunday, church services will be held at 9 a.m. in the log church and a gospel sing will follow on the outside stage starting at 1:30 p.m.

As for food, the Country Fall Festival offers something for everyone. From apple butter to homemade veggie soup and apple cider to gourd, you are sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds. The country farm kitchen and store will also be open both days.

Next year, a Miss Country Fall Festival and Teen Miss Country Fall Festival Pageant will take place under the direction of Delyssa Huffman. This pageant will be an official pageant for the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals.

The West Virginia State Farm Museum is sure to see a large crowd this weekend taking part in the annual Country Fall Festival. With new additions each year, the festival is only growing and providing more for the community as well as those who travel to Point Pleasant to enjoy what all the area has to offer.

The farm museum is located four miles north of Point Pleasant and admission is free. The event will last both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
