SOUTHSIDE — The ninth quilt square in the Mason County Quilt Square Trail Series recently went up on the property of Butch and Zelma Meadows of Southside.
“We are excited and honored,” Zelma Meadows said.
According to the Meadows, this quilt square really means a lot to both of them, since their heritage is truly displayed on their barn. Both of their mothers quilted and Zelma said it only seemed fitting to have a quilt square on their barn.
“When we were contacted, we felt so honored,” Mrs. Meadows said. She also described how they picked the colors — red, white and blue — because they are also very patriotic.
The Meadows’ farm is covered in nearly 75 acres of wetland. This is why the Hunter’s Arrow pattern was chosen.
“The quilt square has a special meaning to us and we look forward to those who stop and visit to see it along the trail,” Mrs. Meadows said.
