WHS Alumni Band practice
MASON — The Wahama High School Alumni Band will practice Sunday, Sept. 20 in the band room to prepare for homecoming on Oct. 9.

Cruise-in fundraiser
POINT PLEASANT — The Mason County Action Group, Inc. will be having a Cruise-in fundraiser on the parking lot Saturday, Sept. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Rodders Car Club will have several vehicles parked for viewing and craft venders are participating. Food is available.
The action group is located at 101 2nd Street.
Veterans Affairs Officer to offer assistance
POINT PLEASANT — Marty Gilchrist, Veterans Affairs Officer of the Parkersburg Field Office of the West Virginia Division of Veterans Affairs, provides assistance to area veterans in filing for state and federal benefits (compensation, pension, widows, education, etc.) to which they may be entitled.
Gilchrist will be in Point Pleasant at the Mason County Action Group from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Beale Elementary to conduct speech screenings
GALLIPOLIS FERRY — Beale Elementary School will be conducting speech, language and hearing screenings starting Sept. 21.
The screenings include students who have missed kindergarten screenings, new students to Mason County and any student who needs to be re-screened from last year. If you do not want your child to participate, please send a written note to Beale Elementary School.
