Marsha Kay Smith, 56, of Point Pleasant died unexpectedly in Pine Grove Pa., on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. She was born March 26, 1953 in Mason County a daughter to Willis and Eleanor Davis.

She was the executive director for the Mason County Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Church of God in New Haven, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in business, a member of the Red Hats Society and was a very active member of the tourism committee in Mason County.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Smith; her children, Travis Carpenter of Bowie, Md., Chad Carpenter of Bowie, Md., Brad and (Melissa) Smith of Randalman, N.C. and Brandi (Terry) Templeton of Apple Grove; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Tim and (Connie) Davis of Mason, Lisa and (Kelvin) Honaker of New Haven, Nate and (Tanya) Davis of New Haven, Burt and (Teresa) Davis of New Haven and Wendy and (Dale) Gerlach of New Haven; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends that will sadly miss her.

The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday Aug. 20 at the Deal Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. E-mail dealfuneral@suddenlinkmail.com to send condolences to the family.
