H. Marcus Weaver, 91, died Aug. 18, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 21, 1918 in Maggie.

He owned and operated The Twin Pines Farm. He was director and member of the Western Soil Conservation. He also was a member of the Dairymen Coop Sales Association in Charleston; Dairy Council in Charleston; West Virginia Farm Bureau for 60 years, Past Board of Directors Southern States, State Farm Director for eight years at the Farm Bureau, 81 year member of the Peniel United Methodist Church where he served as a superintendent, teacher, and trustee; honorary FFA member in Point Pleasant; 1980 Farm Family of the Year, past member of the Odd Fellows; Cattle Chairman of the Mason County Fair for many years; Life Member of the West Virginia State Farm Museum; former member of the American Jersey Cattle Club; former Member of the West Virginia Jersey Cattle Club; past member of the Hillbilly 4-H Club; past delegate of the MMI; life long farmer at Letart; 1938 graduate of Point Pleasant High School; Forest Fire Warden and soil conservationist.

He was preceeded in death by his father, John Homer Weaver; mother, Alice (Pritchard) Weaver; son, John Weaver; son-in-law, Chester Rose; great granddaughter, Jessica Rose; sisters, Helen Carter, Mary Brown and Emma Ledlie; and brother, Herbert Weaver.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dora Weaver of Letart; daughter, Maxine Rose of Racine, Ohio; and her children, Brent (Chasity) Rose of Racine, Ohio, Jeff Rose (Sarah Grueser) of Racine, Ohio, Tara Rose (Tyler Johnson) of Portland, Ohio; son, Aaron (Evelyn) Weaver of Letart; and his children, Brandon Weaver of Letart, Jillian (George) Harris of Pinch; daughter, Juanita (Marc) French of Racine, Ohio; and her son, Tyler French of Racine, Ohio; and two great grandsons, AJ Roush and Austin Rose.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21 at the funeral home with Rev. Bobby Woods and Rev. Jack Mayes officiating.
