POINT PLEASANT — All pictures of Grand Champion and Reserve Champion winners will be taken during the Junior Livestock Sale today at the Mason County Fair, and will be featured in Saturday’s Register.
Welcome home reception planned
POINT PLEASANT — The public is welcome to attend Trinity United Methodist Church for a reception welcoming John Landon Hipes home for Parris Island Marine Corp Boot Camp on Sunday, Aug. 16 from noon-1:30 p.m.
Parades seek entrants
POINT PEASANT — The Tribute to the River parade will be 11 a.m. Sept. 5. Line-up will be 10-11 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church.
The AM-VETS Veterans Day Parade will be 11 a.m. Nov. 7. Line-up will be 10-11 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church. For more information on both parades, call Dennis Rayburn at 304-674-3663.
Road closed
ASHTON — According to the West Virginia Department of Highways, County Rt. 41, Ashton-Upland Road, which is located five miles from W.Va. 2 will be closed today due to a large pipe replacement. The road could be closed for up to two weeks.
