POINT PLEASANT — The 2009 Mason County Fair Parade is set for noon on Saturday, Aug. 8, beginning at the Point Pleasant Register, at the corner of Second and Main streets.
The parade will end at the Mason County Board of Education offices at 11th Street.

Counselor to speak
GALLIPOLIS, Ohio — Kevin Petrie, a certified counselor with Financial Freedom Counseling Service, will be the guest speaker during the regular monthly meeting of the Holzer Medical Center Cancer Support Group.
The group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16 in Conference Room A-B at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
Petrie is a member of nationally-known financial advisor Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and provides education about church, family and business finances. His teaching topics include the benefits of debt-free living, sound financial principles, establishing a written financial plan and overcoming existing debt.
All cancer survivors, patients, family, friends and other interested parties are invited to attend the meeting. A light dinner will be served.
