POINT PLEASANT — Don Pullin, CEO of Fruth Pharmacy announced that Lynne Fruth was elected Chairman of the Board during the Board of Directors meeting held in March.
As chairman, Fruth will ensure the company’s prosperity by collectively directing the company’s affairs, while meeting the appropriate interests of its shareholders and stockholders. In addition to business and financial issues, Fruth will direct challenges and issues relating to corporate management related policies and make decisions on major company issues.
An educator by profession, Fruth has spent more than 20 years in education related careers from Field Researcher for the Federal Government to most recently 15 years in the Putnam County School System. In addition, she works as a private consultant to many school systems in West Virginia bringing innovative programs to struggling schools.
She received both her undergraduate and Master’s Degrees from West Virginia University. Fruth also has experience as an owner and operator of several business ventures including restaurants and a vending route.
The youngest daughter of Frances and the late Jack Fruth, the company’s founder, Fruth grew up around the family business. At an early age she and her brothers and sisters would pass out circulars, wrap gifts or do other small jobs around the store.
In her words, “There was never a time when Fruth Pharmacy wasn’t an important part of our family’s life.”
Following her father’s death in 2005, Fruth became more involved in the family’s business holdings and was elected to the Board of Directors in March 2009. The desire to continue the Fruth Pharmacy tradition of excellence in business is a source of motivation to Fruth.
“In the words of my father, the harder I work the luckier I get. I will strive to bring to this position that level of dedication as well as a commitment to the values on which our company was founded—hard work, integrity, true concern for our employees, customers and communities and a vision for where we can take Fruth Pharmacy in the future,” Fruth said.
