During Thursday’s Mason County Commission meeting commissioners unanimously approved to allow Commission President Miles Epling to sign the airport engineering contract, which is part of the Mason County Airport’s runway rehab project.

According to John Gerlach, county administrator, the project is worth $1.8 million and is going to be 100 percent funded. Commissioner Bob Baird said that having the project fully funded was very good for the county.

The project will resurface the runway at the airport, and work on the project is expected to begin this summer.
