Local woman remains in serious condition after shooting incident

APPLE GROVE — A Mason County woman is now in the hospital after she was shot several times.

According to the Mason County Sheriffs Department, the shooting occurred at 5:45 a.m. Thursday morning on Jerrys Run Rd. off of W.Va. 2. The 18 year-old victim was shot five times with a 25 caliber pistol.

The victim has been identified as Kaylahni Kensler of Apple Grove. She was life flighted to a Huntington Area Hospital, and is listed in serious condition.

Marshall Siders, 18, of Apple Grove has been arrested in the shooting, and is charged with attempted murder and malicious assault. Siders appeared in front of Magistrate Gail Roush, and bond was set at $1,000,000.

Siders is currently housed in the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville.
