Regatta queen forms available

POINT PLEASANT — Young women between the ages of 16 and 21 (as of January 2010) who reside in Mason County are eligible to participate in the 19th Point Pleasant Sternwheel Regatta Queen Pageant. No pageant experience is needed, and there are no entry fees or sponsorships required.

Applications are available at Point Pleasant High School, Wahama High School, Hannan High School, Victoria’s Prom and Bridal or online at http://www.pointpleasantregatta.org. The deadline for application submittal is Friday, May 29.

This year’s pageant, “An Affair to Remember,” will be at the historic State Theater Thursday, July 2 at 6 p.m. Contestants will receive nearly $2,000 in scholarship money and prizes. The general public is welcome and will be admitted free of charge.

The young woman crowned 2009 Sternwheel Regatta Queen will receive $1,000 cash plus the best prize package to date, reign over the weekend’s festivities and compete in Charleston at the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant.

Spring revival planned

POINT PLEASANT — There will be a spring revival at New Beginnings Baptist Church located at 8443 Sand Hill Road in Point Pleasant.

Services will begin at 11:15 a.m. Sunday and will continue at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

RCP auditions set

MIDDLEPORT, Ohio — Auditions for the River City Player’s upcoming performance will be 6-8 p.m. May 11-12 at the Middleport Church of Christ. The auditions are for the upcoming Labor Day weekend performance of “Back to the ’80s.” The RCP also are performing the summer comedy “Playing Doctor” June 26-27.

Those auditioning should come prepared to sing with CD or sheet music of their choice. Those who audition should be available for rehearsals and performances from June through Sept. 6.
