POINT PLEASANT — For those who didn’t take advantage of some free health screenings at the recent health symposium, another opportunity is approaching.
A newly remodeled Rite Aid Wellness Store will be opening next week and during a grand opening ceremony from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, and as part of the reopening several free health screenings and information will be available for local residents.
Those attending can take advantage of free cholesterol tests, blood glucose tests, blood pressure tests, as well as information on the American Heart Association’s Life Check today program. Visitors will also be able to sample organic, gluten-free and natural food products, as well get coupons and other sample products.
In addition to the health screenings during the opening event, attendees can also speak with pharmacists on heart health related topics such as the benefits of vitamins and other supplements. Heart Health guides form the American Heart Association, which provides information on the risks of heart disease and how to control these risk factors as well as overcoming obstacles and decreasing risks by making healthier choices, will be available.
Rite Aid Wellness Ambassadors will also attend the event, providing interactive demonstrations which will help locals access quality information and access to the advice and services of pharmacists. The ambassadors will also help customers enroll in Rite Aid’s free customer loyalty program.
As part of the remodeling, the new store will also feature increased staffing for customer service, a wider selection of products and resources, and advanced clinical services including a private pharmacist consultation room at most locations.
The store is located at 2418 Jackson Avenue in Point Pleasant. For more information, visit www.riteaid.com.
