BOE approve contract reconfigurations, terminations

POINT PLEASANT — At the most recent meeting of the Mason County Board of Education, board members approved to reconfigure and terminate several employee contracts.

The contracts of the following professional personnel were terminated in accordance with the WV Code 18A-2-2, due to reduction in force at the end of the 2012-13 school year: Ronald Bradely-Placement of more senior employee; Blair Bumgarner-Placement of more senior employee; Korie Burns-Placement of more senior employee; Lorita Carr-Placement of more senior employee; Jo Ann Chaney-Lack of Need; Alissa Darst-Placement of more senior employee; Lauren Gilley-Placement of more senior employee; Cassie Goldsberry-Lack of need; Amy Grady-Placement of more senior employee; Lorie Grimm-Lack of funding.

Lea Hamilton-Placement of more senior employee; Jessica Hitt-Placement of more senior employee; Anna Hoffman-Placement of more senior employee; Lindsey Ingels-Lack of funding; Heather Pearson-Lack of funding; Tiffany Preston-Lack of funding; Rebecca Roll-Placement of a more senior employee; Heather Thompson-Placement of a more senior employee; Kayla Tucker-Placement of a more senior employee; Jeffrey Vogt-Lack of funding; Josh Williams-Placement of a more senior employee; Brenda Withers-Lack of Funding; Rachel Workman-Lack of funding.

The contracts of the following service personnel were terminated in accordance with WV Code 18A-2-6, due to reduction in force, effective at the end of the 2012-13 school year: Stacy Litchfield, Cook-Lack of need; Lana Rayburn, .5 Secretary-lack of funding.

Approved the contract termination of Mirlie Casto, Aide, Beale Elementary, for the limited purpose of adjusting the work day to include an eight hour day and modifying duties and responsibilities, effective at the end of the 2012-13 school year.

In addition to Superintendent Suzanne Dickens, board members present were Thomas Nunnery, Randy Searls, Greg Fowler, Paul Sayre, and Dale Shobe.

The Mason County Board of Education will meet again for a regular business meeting at 6 p.m. on March 12, at the Mason County Career Center.
