Jarvis Geraldine Staats, 73, of Leon, left this world for her heavenly flight home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, January 10, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

She was born on August 9, 1939, in Glenwood, to Gladys Chapman and was raised by her foster parents, James and Aris Langdon, all of whom has preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were here brothers and sisters, Donald Holley, Mary Langdon, Norma Wroten, Richard Holley, Joe Cobb and Henry Chapman.

Jarvis is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond Staats; her children, Chloie and Mike Boelte, Mark and Lisa Staats and Molly and Steve Greenlee; grandchildren, Brandon and Abbey Boelte, Morgan and Dylan Greenlee and Isaiah and Levi Staats; and her great-grandchild, Aiden Boelte.

The funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Rev. Mathew Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, in Letart. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Jarvis’s care has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
