Joseph H. Denais, 79, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord after passing away peacefully amongst his family at home on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Joe fought a long battle with cancer. Joe will be missed but will be in our hearts forever.

Joe was born on April 16, 1933, a son to the late Jock Denais and Aedith Simon Denais. He was a Seabee in the US Navy serving in the Korean War. He retired as a captain/pilot on the river after 45 years of service.

Joe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Juanita Denais of Point Pleasant; four sons, Sheldon Denais and Wesley Taylor of Point Pleasant, and Lester (Judy) Denais, and Karl Denais of La.; four daughters, Oneta (Rex) Patterson of Henderson, Sarah and Anna Taylor of Point Pleasant, and Hope (Currmet) Landry of La.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He also had very special friends Vodd, Clemment, Crockett and Kenny.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mason County Hospice at 211 Viand Street in Point Pleasant.
