Faye Marcum, 72, of Glenwood, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at home with her family at her side. She was born on November 18, 1939, in Mingo County, a daughter to the late C.C. Childress and Louisa White Childress. She was a homemaker. She also was a member of Barton Chapel Church in Apple Grove.
She is preceded in death, besides her parents, by half-brothers, Elmer Childress, George Childress, Albert Childress, John Childress, and Berl Childress.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ked Marcum of Glenwood; her loving daughter, Kathy (Michael) Taylor also of Glenwood; brother and sisters, Nick (Ruth) Childress of South Williamson, Ky., Edith White of Varney, Maxine Snyder of Chicago, Ill., and Barbara Johnson of Chicago, Ill.; and grandchildren Christopher and Sara Taylor, and Brent, Hayden, and Henley Taylor.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, for all the caring, support, and kindness they gave mom during her illness.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Barton Chapel Church in Apple Grove, with Max Spurlock and Ronnie Long officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
