School bus accident

A school bus belonging to Mason County Schools was recently involved in a traffic accident while students were on the bus, though there were no injuries. The accident occurred on Sept. 28 around 4:40 p.m. on Jeffers Ridge Rd. in Southside. Lori L. Nutter, 41, Mason, was driving the 1999 International school bus north on Jeffers Ridge Rd., while in the opposite lane Danny R. White, 53, Henderson, was driving south in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. According to the accident report, White was going down a hill and attempted to apply his brakes to avoid the bus but the rainy weather caused him to strike the front of the bus. Damage to the front ends of both vehicles was reported. White was cited in the accident for failure to maintain control, improper registration, no insurance and driving revoked. There were 13 children on the bus at the time of the accident but again, there were no injures. Trooper T.V. Hughes of the West Virginia State Police is investigating.
