Michael E. Pickens, 62, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born June 27, 1950, in Mason County, a son to the late William “Billy” Pickens and Garnette Holcomb Stover. Mike was an Chief Engineer for AEP River Division and for more than 20 years was the caretaker of Kirkland Memorial Gardens Point Pleasant. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Pickens, and one infant brother.

He is survived by his loving, caring wife of 41 years, Sharon; and his loving children, Christopher and (Nedra) Pickens of Point Pleasant, Chad and (Heather) Pickens of Point Pleasant, and daughter, Kim and (Kent) Saunders of Gallipolis, Ohio; also his precious grandchildren, Lindsey Pickens, Levi Pickens, Kyle Saunders, Kati Saunders, and Kirk Saunders; brothers and sisters, Phillip and (Genny) Pickens of Huntington, Sharon and (Clyde) Rodgers of Lancaster, Ohio, Paul and (Pam) Pickens of Point Pleasant, Sheila and (Mike) Carlisle of Point Pleasant, Angie Johnson of Point Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home with Rev. Leland Alman officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
