APPLE GROVE — An Apple Grove man was taken to a Huntington hospital by helicopter after a single-vehicle accident on Millstone Road Wednesday.

Emergency personnel responded to the accident around 4 p.m. and found Robert Wallace, 28, partially ejected from his Chevrolet Camaro, according to officials.

Members of the Mason County Emergency Medical Services as well as the Valley Volunteer Fire Department worked to get Wallace from the vehicle and to a helicopter landing zone. He was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Capt. Carl Peterson and Cpl. Andy Varian of the Mason County Sheriff’s Department also responded and are conducting an investigation of the accident.
