Helen E. Myers, 82, of Hartford, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Hospital.

She was a homemaker.

She was born Dec. 28, 1926 in Racine, Ohio, a daughter to the late Denver and Neva Smith Bates.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Myers; and brothers, Harry and Frank Bates.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Crystal Myers of Hartford and Steven and Andrea Myers of Letart; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Rod Shilot of Harrodsburg, Ky., Dinah and Gary Cottrill of Hartford and Marilyn Bird of Hartford; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Denver (Joyce) Bates of Gallipolis, Ohio; and sisters, Betty Clounch of Gallipolis and Jane Ann Deweese of Gallipolis.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with the Rev. Amos Tillis officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens near Point Pleasant. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
