Lady Marauders edge Wellston at Fairgreens

WELLSTON, Ohio — The Meigs girls golf team recorded a team total of 220 Monday night at Fairgreens Golf Course to defeat host Wellston by just two strokes. The match was a Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division contest and was held under the play six, count four format.

Alyssa Cremeans shot a 52 which was the low round for the Lady Marauders on the day, followed by Natalie Michael with a 54. Harley Fox recorded a 56 for Meigs, while Kerri Moon recorded a 60 to round out the team score. Torie Walker and Shawnella Patterson both played but their scores did not count toward the team score.

Wellston’s Abby Scott earned medalist honors after recording a 50, followed by Destiny Clemons with a 55. Abby Doyle shot a 58 for the Lady Rockets and Amber Gilliland shot a 59 to round of the team total. Chelsea Manaway played but her score did not count toward the WHS total.
