POINT PLEASANT —At the most recent meeting of the Mason County Board of Education, board members approved the following agenda and personnel items.


Accepted the resignation of Dru Ross, Physical Education Teacher, Wahama Jr/Sr High, effective August 10, 2012. Accepted the resignation of Carla Burr, Family and Consumer Science Teacher, Hannan Jr/Sr High, effective August 11, 2012. Approved the employment of Alissa Darst, LD/BD/MI Teacher, Roosevelt Elementary, Job #213-521-P, effective August 16, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Amanda Dean, Speech/Language Therapy Assistant, Central Office Itinerant, Job #001-015-I, effective August 16, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Board members Searls recused himself from this item.


Approved the employment of Jessica Durst Bailey, School Nurse, Central Office Itinerant, Job #001-013-I, effective August 16, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Jamie Bonecutter, Grade 3 Teacher, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, to Kindergarten Teacher, Point Pleasant Primary, Job #217-256-P, effective 2013-14 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of the following as Substitute Teachers for the 2012-13 school Year: Kimberly Hunt, Erin Northup, Courtney Sayre, Keith Sayre, and Leslie Stepp.


Approved the employment of Paul Woodyard, Speech Pathologist, Central Office Itinerant, Job #001-016-I, effective August 16, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Updated/Revised as of interview completion 8/14/12. Approved the employment of Nicole Carr, Pre-School Special Needs Teacher, Ashton Elementary, Job #216-224-P, effective August 16, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Updated/Revised as of interview completion 8/14/12. Approved the employment of Kori Burns, LD/BD/MI Teacher, Ashton Elementary, Job #216-231-P, effective August 16, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Updated/Revised as of interview completion 8/14/12.


Approved the employment of Anna Hoffman, Music Teacher, Ashton Elementary, Job #216-228-P, effective August 16, 2012. County will be the funding source. Updated/Revised as of interview completion 8/14/12. Approved the employment Bridget Judy, of General Science/Chemistry Teacher, Hannan Jr/Sr High, Job #501-608-P, effective August 16, 2012. County will be the funding source. Updated/Revised as of interview completion 8/14/12. Approved the transfer of Laura Herdman, Aide, Central Office Itinerant, to Aide Central Office Itinerant, Job #001-052-C, effective August 17, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Lori Nutter, Bus Operator, Route #2034, to Bus Operator, Route 2011, Job #014-115-C, effective August 17, 2012. County will be the funding source.


Approved the transfer of Shawnda Smith, Custodian, Hannan Jr/Sr High, to .5 Custodian (200 days), Leon Elementary, Job #206-308-C, effective August 17, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Julie McWilliams, Custodian, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High (220 days) to Custodian, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High (200 days), Job #502-826-C, effective August 17, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Jeannie Teichman, Secretary/Accountant, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, Job #502-808-C, effective August 17, 2012. County will be the funding source.


Approved the employment of Alissa Darst, Jr High Girls Assistant Softball Coach, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High School, Job #502-130-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Jessica Porter, Cross Country Coach, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, Job #502-163-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Anthony Toler, Jr Varsity Baseball Coach, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, Job #502-123-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source.


In addition to Superintendent Suzanne Dickens, board members present were Thomas Nunnery, Randy Searls, Greg Fowler, Dale Shobe, and Paul Sayre.


The Mason County Board of Education will meet again for a Special Policy/Regular Business meeting at 5 p.m., tonight, Aug. 21, at the Mason County Career Center.
