Doris Jean Dalton, 77, of Point Pleasant, died suddenly Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Hospital’s emergency room.

She was born March 19, 1931 in West Hamlin, a daughter to the late Willard Chaney and Rosetta Carpenter Johnson.

She was a homemaker and a private duty nursing asset in Home Care.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hugh Johnson; one brother, Vernon Lee Chaney; and two step-grandsons.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Connie Dalton of Ona and John “Timmy” Dalton of Point Pleasant; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Dalton of Henderson, Lois and Craig Dyke of Apache Junction, Ariz., Dianna and Slug Oliver of Point Pleasant, Eilene Dalton of Point Pleasant, Crystal and J.R. Rainey of Syracuse, N.Y., and Darla and Brian Bousselot of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Harold (Brenda) Chaney of Huntington; and sisters, Vada (Clifford) Abshire of Branchland and Patsy Adkins of South Point, Ohio.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Max Spurlock officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
