by Staff Report
MASON COUNTY — Teachers in Mason County are eligible to apply for grants for innovative classroom projects through the Dickens Family Grant Fund for Mason County Schools at Our Community’s Foundation/Mason County Community Foundation.
Up to 10 grants will be awarded this fall valued at $500 – $1,000 each for innovative projects that will enhance the education of Mason County students. Grant funding can support materials, books, instructional supplies, travel expenses, performance/consulting fees, etc.
To apply, teachers must submit Our Community’s Foundation online Community Action Grant Application form. The application deadline is Sept. 1. The online form can be accessed on the Foundation’s website, www.pacfwv.com, in the Grants section. The form must be completed and submitted online.
Up to three teachers from each county school may apply. Applications can be written by teachers but must be submitted from the schools with approval from the principal. Grant applications are reviewed and projects are selected by a local independent committee appointed by the community foundation.
